Purpose of Position:
The Senior Editor is required to support the work of the Managing Editor and Editor-In-Chief. The Senior Editor will collaborate on the full spectrum of editorial functions, from the highest to the most basic editorial functions for both print and digital platforms. The Senior Editor will create and curate reader- and writer- generated content, original content, and provide basic editorial support (fact-checking, proofing). This position will generate well-formulated story ideas and plans for execution, from assignment through publication; establish productive working relationships with freelance writers; cultivate productive relationships with members of the culture and hospitality communities; and help build awareness of New Mexico Magazine, as well as the state's prime assets of interest to travelers, in support of both magazine sustainability and NMTD mission. 
 
This position is a Pay Band 65.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in any field and two (2) years of experience in print media publishing to include writing and/or editing.
 
Employment Conditions:
Some travel may be required. Must maintain a valid driver's license, complete a defensive driving training course, and obtain a defensive driving certificate within 30 days of employment.

Working Conditions:
Work is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, printer, copier, scanner and telephone usage.
